Sunrise Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Croissant

Ingredients:

  • 4 large croissants
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your preferred type)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Butter or cooking spray for frying

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until they are crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain excess grease on a paper towel. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, using the bacon drippings or adding a bit of butter, crack the eggs and cook them to your desired level of doneness (fried or scrambled). Season the eggs with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. While the eggs are cooking, slice the croissants in half horizontally.
  5. Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each croissant. Then add a slice of cooked bacon on top of the cheese.
  6. Once the eggs are cooked, place one egg on each croissant bottom over the bacon.
  7. Top each croissant with the other half to form a sandwich.
  8. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a bit of butter or cooking spray.
  9. Place the assembled croissants onto the skillet or griddle and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the croissants turn golden brown and the cheese begins to melt.
  10. Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove the croissants from the skillet.
  11. If desired, you can wrap the croissants in foil and place them in the preheated oven for a few minutes to ensure the cheese is fully melted and the croissants are heated through.
  12. Serve your sunrise bacon, egg, and cheese croissants warm and enjoy!
