Rustic Oven-Baked Steak Fries

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes, washed and dried
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional, for added color and flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the washed and dried russet potatoes into thick steak fries, approximately 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and dried rosemary. Mix well to create the seasoning mixture.
  4. Place the steak fries in a large mixing bowl. Pour the seasoned olive oil mixture over the fries and toss until they are evenly coated.
  5. Spread the seasoned steak fries on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, ensuring they’re not overcrowded.
  6. Season the fries with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
  8. Once done, remove the fries from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish.
  9. Garnish the Rustic Oven-Baked Steak Fries with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, for a pop of color and added freshness.
  10. Serve the steak fries hot as a delicious and rustic side dish or a flavorful snack.

These oven-baked steak fries offer a crispy exterior with fluffy interiors and are seasoned with aromatic herbs and spices. Adjust the seasoning according to your preferences and enjoy these hearty and flavorful fries!
