Rosemary Olive Oil Artisan Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • 4 cups bread flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • Extra olive oil for coating
  • Additional chopped rosemary for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lukewarm water, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until the yeast becomes frothy.
  2. Add the extra virgin olive oil and chopped fresh rosemary to the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
  3. Gradually add the bread flour and salt to the wet ingredients, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Add a little more flour if needed, but keep the dough slightly tacky.
