Ingredients:
- 8 frozen waffles (or homemade if preferred)
- 8 breakfast sausage patties
- 8 large eggs
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Butter for cooking eggs
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to the temperature indicated on the waffle package or to around 350°F (175°C) if using homemade waffles. Toast the waffles until they’re golden and crispy. Keep them warm in the oven while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage patties according to the package instructions or until they’re browned and cooked through. Set aside and keep warm.
- In the same skillet, melt a little butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook them to your preferred style (fried, scrambled, or as desired). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once the eggs are cooked, drizzle maple syrup over the eggs in the skillet and gently mix them together. Cook for an additional minute to allow the eggs to absorb the maple syrup flavor.
- If using, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the eggs in the skillet and let it melt slightly.
- Assemble the sandwiches: Take one toasted waffle and place a sausage patty on it. Top the sausage patty with the maple syrup-infused eggs (and melted cheese, if desired). Optionally, drizzle a little extra maple syrup on top.
- Place another toasted waffle on top to form a sandwich.
- Repeat the process to make the remaining maple syrup sausage, egg, and waffle sandwiches.
- Serve your delicious maple syrup sausage, egg, and waffle sandwiches immediately and enjoy!
This sandwich is a delightful combination of sweet maple syrup-infused eggs, savory sausage, and crispy waffles. It’s a fantastic blend of flavors and textures that make for a perfect breakfast or brunch treat! Adjust the ingredients or add extra toppings according to your preferences.
