Ingredients:

For the burger patties:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

For the guacamole:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 small tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For assembling the burger:

  • 4 burger buns
  • Crisp lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onions
  • Optional: Mayonnaise or chipotle mayo

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Guacamole:
    • Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
    • Mash the avocados with a fork until slightly chunky.
    • Add diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, minced garlic, lime juice, chopped cilantro, salt, and pepper to the mashed avocados. Mix well. Adjust seasonings to taste. Set aside.
  2. Form the Burger Patties:
    • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
    • Gently shape each portion into a patty, seasoning both sides with salt and pepper.
    • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
    • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.
  3. Toast the Burger Buns:
    • While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns.
  4. Assemble the Burgers:
    • Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or chipotle mayo (if using) on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
    • Place a lettuce leaf on top of the sauce to create a base for the burger.
    • Add a cooked burger patty with melted Swiss cheese on top of the lettuce.
    • Spoon a generous amount of guacamole on each patty.
    • Add sliced tomatoes and red onions on top of the guacamole.
    • Place the top half of the bun over the toppings.
  5. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Serve the Guacamole Swiss Burgers immediately while they’re hot and loaded with creamy guacamole.
    • These burgers go well with sides like sweet potato fries, corn on the cob, or a side salad.

Enjoy the creamy, flavorful goodness of the Guacamole Swiss Burger, a perfect combination of juicy beef, creamy guacamole, and melted Swiss cheese!
