Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef (80% lean meat, 20% fat for juiciness)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices of cheese (American cheese is a classic choice)
- 4 hamburger buns
- Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.)
Instructions:
- Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet to medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Handle the meat gently and avoid overworking it to keep the burgers tender.
- Season both sides of the burger patties generously with salt and pepper.
- Place the burger patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side without pressing down on them. This helps to retain the juices.
- Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes (for medium-rare to medium doneness) or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If adding cheese, place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking and let it melt.
- While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Once the burgers are cooked to your liking and the cheese has melted, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a minute.
- Assemble your burgers: Place the cooked patties on the bottom half of each bun. Add your preferred toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, or mayo.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve your delicious, juicy All-American cheeseburgers immediately. Enjoy!
Feel free to customize your cheeseburgers with additional toppings or seasonings based on your preferences.
