Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed according to package instructions
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons fresh sage leaves, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle.
- In a bowl, mix together the chopped walnuts, finely chopped sage leaves, grated Parmesan cheese, melted butter, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the walnut and sage mixture evenly over the entire surface of the puff pastry sheet.
- Starting from one long edge, tightly roll up the puff pastry sheet into a log.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the log into approximately 1-inch thick scrolls.
- Place the scrolls on the prepared baking sheet, cut-side down, leaving some space between each scroll.
- Brush the tops of the scrolls with the egg wash using a pastry brush.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the scrolls are puffed and golden brown.
- Once done, remove the scrolls from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
These sage and walnut savory scrolls are fragrant and flavorful, with the earthy taste of sage and the crunchiness of walnuts. Enjoy them as a delightful snack or as a tasty addition to your meal!
