Ingredients:
- 2 cups chickpea flour (also known as garbanzo bean flour)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend for a gluten-free option)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon dried herbs (such as thyme, rosemary, oregano, or a mix)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- Optional toppings: additional dried herbs, sesame seeds, or flaky sea salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpea flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and dried herbs. Mix well to ensure even distribution of the herbs.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the olive oil and warm water.
- Stir the mixture together until a thick, sticky dough forms. The dough will be quite moist but should hold together.
- Using slightly wet hands or a spoon, portion the dough into equal-sized portions and shape them into rolls. Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each roll.
- Optionally, sprinkle additional dried herbs, sesame seeds, or flaky sea salt on top of each roll for added flavor and decoration.
- Bake the chickpea flour herb-infused rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown and are cooked through.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
These chickpea flour herb-infused rolls have a unique flavor from the chickpea flour and the addition of dried herbs. Enjoy them warm as a side to soups, salads, or as a flavorful accompaniment to your meals!
