Reframe Negative Exam Thoughts

What it is

Replace “I will fail” with “I will do my best with what I prepared.” Thoughts are not facts — reframing reduces paralysis.

When to use it

When catastrophic thoughts appear during study or in the exam room.

How to do it

  1. Notice the thought without judging yourself.
  2. Ask: “What is the evidence? What is a balanced alternative?”
  3. Take one small action (one question, one paragraph).

Common mistakes

  • Believing every anxious thought is true.
  • Avoiding study because anxiety feels unbearable.
  • Isolating instead of talking to a trusted person.

Your 1-minute action

Write one anxious thought and one balanced alternative.
