    A protein that is induced by progesterone and binds it and that inhibits the enzyme phospholipase A2 (PLA2). Uteroglobin was first found to be secreted by the lining of the uterus in rabbits. The gene for uteroglobin is on chromosome 11 in region 11q12.3-q13.1. It is also called blastokinin.

  • Blade bone

    Familiar term for the scapula, also called the shoulder blade or wing bone, the flat triangular bone at the back of the shoulder.

  • Bladder, overactive

    A condition in which sudden involuntary contractions of the muscular wall of the bladder cause urinary urgency, immediate and unstoppable needs to urinate. Overactive bladder is a form of urinary incontinence (the unintentional loss of urine) and is relatively common, particularly in older adults. Treatment may include pelvic muscle strengthening, behavioral therapy, and medications. Also called urge incontinence.
