- 1 large Italian or French baguette or submarine roll
- 1/4 pound thinly sliced Genoa salami
- 1/4 pound thinly sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 pound thinly sliced ham
- 1/4 pound thinly sliced provolone cheese
- 1/4 pound thinly sliced mozzarella cheese
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced red onions
- Shredded iceberg lettuce or mixed greens
- Sliced pepperoncini or banana peppers (optional)
- Olive oil
- Red wine vinegar
- Italian seasoning blend
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the baguette or submarine roll lengthwise without cutting all the way through, creating a top and bottom piece.
- Layer the sliced meats and cheeses on the bottom half of the bread, starting with the salami, pepperoni, ham, provolone, and mozzarella.
- Add sliced tomatoes, red onions, shredded lettuce or mixed greens, and sliced pepperoncini or banana peppers (if using) over the meats and cheeses.
- Drizzle olive oil and red wine vinegar over the sandwich filling. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Close the sandwich by placing the top half of the bread over the filled bottom half.
- Wrap the sandwich tightly in foil and place it in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes to warm the ingredients and melt the cheese.
- Remove the sandwich from the oven, unwrap the foil, and carefully slice it into individual servings.
