Classic Sausage, Egg, and Cheese English Muffin

Ingredients:

  • 4 English muffins, split and toasted
  • 4 sausage patties (you can use pre-cooked or raw sausage meat formed into patties)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your preferred type)
  • Butter or cooking spray for frying
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. If you’re using raw sausage meat, form it into four patties and cook them in a skillet over medium heat until they are browned and cooked through. If using pre-cooked sausage patties, warm them up according to the package instructions. Set aside.
  2. In the same skillet (or a separate one), crack the eggs and cook them to your desired level of doneness (fried or scrambled). Season the eggs with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each toasted English muffin.
  4. Place a cooked sausage patty on top of the cheese.
  5. Once the eggs are cooked, place one egg on each English muffin bottom over the sausage patty.
  6. Top each sandwich with the other half of the English muffin to form a sandwich.
  7. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a bit of butter or cooking spray.
  8. Place the assembled sandwiches onto the skillet or griddle and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the English muffins turn golden brown and the cheese begins to melt.
  9. Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwiches from the skillet.
  10. Serve your classic sausage, egg, and cheese English muffin sandwiches warm and enjoy!

This classic breakfast sandwich is simple to make and incredibly satisfying, offering a perfect combination of savory sausage, fluffy egg, melted cheese, and toasty English muffins. Feel free to customize it by adding condiments like ketchup, hot sauce, or mustard to suit your taste preferences!
