Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast (or one packet)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- Additional melted butter for brushing (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the milk mixture.
- Stir the ingredients together until a soft dough forms.
- Gradually add the remaining 1 cup of flour, 1/4 cup at a time, until the dough is smooth, soft, and slightly sticky. You may not need to use all the remaining flour.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Grease a clean bowl with oil or butter, place the dough inside, cover it with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until it doubles in size.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release the air bubbles.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized portions and shape them into rolls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each roll.
- Cover the rolls loosely with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes, or until they have doubled in size.
- Optionally, brush the rolls with melted butter before baking to give them a golden finish.
- Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
