Classic Salted Steak Fries

Ingredients:

  • 4 large russet potatoes, washed and dried
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • Salt (preferably kosher or sea salt), to taste
  • Black pepper (optional), to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the washed and dried russet potatoes into thick steak fries, about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the steak fries with the olive oil until they’re evenly coated.
  4. Spread the steak fries on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, ensuring they’re not overcrowded.
  5. Season the fries generously with salt, ensuring each fry is adequately coated. Add black pepper if desired for extra flavor.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for around 30-35 minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
  7. Once done, remove the fries from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish.
  8. Optionally, garnish the Classic Salted Steak Fries with chopped fresh parsley for a touch of freshness.
  9. Serve the steak fries hot as a delightful side dish or a flavorful snack.

These Classic Salted Steak Fries are simple yet satisfying, boasting a crispy exterior and tender interior with just the right amount of saltiness. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference and enjoy these delicious fries!
