Ingredients:
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef (80% lean meat, 20% fat for juiciness)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (optional, American cheese is a classic choice)
- Toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.
Instructions:
- Preheat your grill to high heat or prepare a charcoal grill for direct grilling.
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during grilling. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Place the burger patties on the hot grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes without pressing down on them to allow a good sear to form.
- Flip the patties and continue grilling for another 4-5 minutes for medium doneness or until cooked to your preferred level. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of grilling and allow it to melt.
- While the burgers are grilling, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill, cut side down, for about a minute until they are lightly golden brown.
- Once the burgers are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a minute.
- Assemble your iconic char-grilled classic burgers: Place the cooked patties on the bottom half of each bun. Add your preferred toppings such as lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, or any other condiments.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve your delicious char-grilled classic burgers immediately while they’re hot and juicy.
Feel free to customize your burgers by adding bacon, grilled onions, or other favorite toppings to create your own iconic char-grilled masterpiece!
