Iconic Char-Grilled Classic Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef (80% lean meat, 20% fat for juiciness)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (optional, American cheese is a classic choice)
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill to high heat or prepare a charcoal grill for direct grilling.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during grilling. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the burger patties on the hot grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes without pressing down on them to allow a good sear to form.
  4. Flip the patties and continue grilling for another 4-5 minutes for medium doneness or until cooked to your preferred level. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of grilling and allow it to melt.
  5. While the burgers are grilling, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill, cut side down, for about a minute until they are lightly golden brown.
  6. Once the burgers are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a minute.
  7. Assemble your iconic char-grilled classic burgers: Place the cooked patties on the bottom half of each bun. Add your preferred toppings such as lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, or any other condiments.
  8. Top with the other half of the bun and serve your delicious char-grilled classic burgers immediately while they’re hot and juicy.

Feel free to customize your burgers by adding bacon, grilled onions, or other favorite toppings to create your own iconic char-grilled masterpiece!
