Heritage All-Beef Cheeseburger

Ingredients:

For the burger patties:

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef (a mixture of chuck and sirloin recommended)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For assembling the burger:

  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, American, Swiss, etc.)
  • Iceberg lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onions
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Ketchup, mustard, and mayo (optional)
  • Additional toppings like bacon or avocado (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Form the Burger Patties:
    • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
    • Gently shape each portion into a patty, ensuring they’re slightly larger than the burger buns to allow for shrinkage during cooking.
    • Season both sides of the patties generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Preheat the Grill or Skillet:
    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or heat a skillet on the stovetop over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the Burger Patties:
    • Place the burger patties on the preheated grill or skillet.
    • Grill or cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, flipping them only once, until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. Add Cheese to the Patties:
    • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to allow it to melt slightly.
  5. Toast the Burger Buns:
    • While the patties are cooking, place the burger buns on the grill or in the skillet, cut side down, for 1-2 minutes until they’re lightly toasted. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.
  6. Assemble the Burgers:
    • Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
    • Add a cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top of the lettuce.
    • Layer sliced tomatoes, red onions, pickles (if using), and any other desired toppings on the burger patties.
    • Spread ketchup, mustard, and/or mayo on the top half of the bun if desired.
  7. Complete the Burgers:
    • Cover the assembled burgers with the top halves of the buns.
  8. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Serve the Heritage All-Beef Cheeseburgers immediately while they’re hot and packed with classic beefy flavors.
    • These burgers go well with a variety of sides, such as fries, onion rings, or a garden salad.

Enjoy the robust and flavorful Heritage All-Beef Cheeseburgers, showcasing the quality taste of beef with your favorite toppings!
